Though we may realize our faith is most strengthened, not in the easy times of life, but in the most trying, it’s often hard to walk that out once we're swirling in the midst of it all. We long for carefree days, yet sometimes, God takes our hand and leads us straight into the darkest of times. Not to harm us, ever. But to bring greater strength, character, trust, beauty, and perseverance to the deepest part of our souls.
O God, Creator of the universe, who extends your paternal concern over every creature and guides the events of history to the goal of salvation, we acknowledge your fatherly love when you break the resistance of mankind and, in a world torn by strife and discord, you make us ready for reconciliation. Renew for us the wonders of your mercy; send forth your Spirit that he may work in the intimacy of hearts, that enemies may begin to dialogue, that adversaries may shake hands and peoples may encounter one another in harmony. May all commit themselves to the sincere search for true peace which will extinguish all arguments, for charity which overcomes hatred, for pardon which disarms revenge.
I know what it’s like waking up at 3 a.m. and not being able to get back to sleep while my mind races to things I need to do and issues that need to be resolved. Nothing helps me calm my thoughts more than talking to God in prayer. I can’t explain it, but I know that prayer works. Praying for peace of mind is one of the most powerful tools we have access to as people of faith.

Enable me to rest beside Your still waters of refreshment and sleep in Your arms of comfort give me I pray that peace – that perfect peace that only flows from You to those that have their mind stayed on You.. Keep my heart and mind focussed on Jesus I pray and help me not to be anxious about anything but in everything by prayer and supplication makeing my requests known to You – with a thankful heart.

We begin by acknowledging that Jesus is Lord, that we live in grace and that eternity awaits us. The enemies of peace are fear, shame and pain. All of these are dissolved by the redemptive Christ and his love. Even when we ask for this peace and don't feel it - it is there underpinning the whole of our being. Like a safety net beneath us, this peace that surpasses all understanding is a constant. It does not change, it cannot fail. It is wider and deeper than we can ever imagine.

This page has three prayers asking God for inner peace, one which reminds us that God is our source of strength, and another which likens the presence of God to a gentle flame burning within us. The last prayer is the famous "Serenity Prayer" - you may wish to meditate on these words as you seek God for inner calm and emotional strength in your life.
Father I know that in Your word it tells us not to worry about anything – but rather to cast all of my burdens upon You - and Father I truly want to do this – but at times I find it so difficult to put this into practice – Lord, at times the circumstances that I am facing are very hard to bear and too often I find myself in an attitude of worry and anxiety.

For Peace & Healing.   We are deeply aware of the tragic cycle of continuing violence around the world. As we each find our own way through the complex maze of inner feelings, it is useful to know that we are not alone in our struggles or in our hopes. Even as tragedy and suffering have occurred to so many people now and throughout history, there have also been passionate insightful voices calling for peace and healing. Below are a few special prayers which many have found inspiring.
Lord Jesus Christ, who are called the Prince of Peace, who are yourself our peace and reconciliation, who so often said, "Peace to you," grant us peace. Make all men and women witnesses of truth, justice, and brotherly love. Banish from their hearts whatever might endanger peace. Enlighten our rulers that they may guarantee and defend the great gift of peace. May all peoples of the earth becomes as brothers and sisters. May longed-for peace blossom forth and reign always over us all.
Help me to develop a peace of mind that only comes from casting all my burdens upon You. Help me I pray to take my eyes off the circumstances of life that seem so burdensome to me and to learn how to keep my eye fixed upon Jesus, for I know that this is what You have instructed us to do of which we are to enjoy the perfect peace that only comes from You.
When a friend or family member faces difficult times such as the loss of a loved one, illness or a marriage break-up, it can be hard to know how to pray. Also on this page is a short film with a prayer for strength for those who are grieving, and bible quotes to meditate on God's strength, suitable for including in a card or message. There is also a prayer you can pray for a friend going through a hard time, a prayer for patience and strength and the famous "Serenity Prayer" for courage and wisdom. Finally, there is the beautiful daily prayer by St Richard and a short prayer for mental and physical strength when at work.

Christella – a loss of a loved one brings a great deal of impossible pain. I know that our answer for hope and healing is found in Jesus. I can’t say anything that will make things better, but I can offer you a suggestion to get a book called, “Through the Eyes of a Lion: Facing Impossible Pain, Finding Incredible Power” by Levi Lusko. He is a pastor in Montana and he lost his young daughter days before Christmas. It’s a great testimony and inspiration to people who are grieving and feeling hopeless. I hope you get it, read it, and share it. I am praying that you will find peace, rest, and hope in the midst of your terrible pain.
72. Alpha Omega, beginning the end, Lord I stand before you Maker of the heavens and the God that spreads the cloud as a blanket, amaze at your work the invisible king who we see his works and give all homage to. All peace are in your possession for you are the God of all peace therefore for your people I know peace is assured and am saying thank you for peace that goes beyond my present situation. Grant more expression of peace in my living amen
